Storm damage to the school hall
Over the course of half term a large Chestnut tree in St. George’s Square was blown down during the storm and one of the branches has landed on the roof of the school hall.
As yet, we do not know exactly how much damage has been caused, or how long it will take to repair. We are in constant contact with the management at St. Saviour’s Church who are liaising with contractors and the Health and Safety Executive to assess the damage done to the building.
At present no one is allowed inside the building. We are hoping to have a better idea of the problem by Friday morning at the latest, when a full assessment has been made.
At the moment it is looking very unlikely that we will be able to use the hall next week. Please accept my sincerest apologies for this uncertainty, but I will contact you as soon as we receive further news and have a better understanding of the situation.
If you would like to contact me, please email either myself or Henry. Alternatively, please leave a message on the school answerphone, which we check regularly.
